Master’s Programme in Philosophy & History of Religion

The programme is administered jointly by the HSE's Faculty of Humanities and the Theological Institute for Graduate and Post-Graduate Studies (OCAD) and is the first of its kind in higher education in Russia. It combines both a philosophical and theological approach to examining religious teachings and practices of various confessions. The goal of the program is to provide students with an understanding of the historical and sociocultural roots of contemporary religious discourses and practices. Graduates will be able to use the knowledge and skills obtained to work in research and educational centers, the media, public and religious organizations and state and municipal institutions.
