BIOBEHAVIORAL NUTRITION AND WELLNESS, BS

By now, you've probably memorized the five food groups. Many people have. But can you take that knowledge and use it to enhance human health and prevent disease? Because that's exactly what we can teach you in this program.

The first thing you should know about this program is that we take the concept of "you are what you eat" a step further. Actually, many steps further. In fact, you're going to take a deep dive into the relationship between human health, mindfulness, nutrition, metabolism and food as medicine. Why? Because it's important for you to understand how the body responds both physiologically and metabolically to food, so you can enhance the lives of people in hospitals, and public health and fitness organizations. Best of all, when you graduate you'll have all the prerequisites you need to continue your education, and even apply for the UAB Registered Dietitian Nutritionist program.
