Our NBS PhD programme is supported by 10 internationally leading research centres and groups comprising the expertise of world class academics across a breadth of subject expertise such as Management and Organisation Studies, Marketing, Accounting and Finance, Human Resource Management, Economics, Sustainability, International Business, Entrepreneurship, Behavioural Sciences and Health & Wellbeing.

The NBS PhD Programme has been designed to promote a vibrant student culture with multiple opportunities for participation in doctoral symposia and student led seminars, including opportunities to engage in specialised training and research workshops to help you advance in your area of interest and research. These platforms will provide for a safe and supportive environment to practice presentation skills and receive feedback from peers and subject experts. You will also many have opportunities to engage with the wider NTU Doctoral School and participate in the NTU wide Doctoral Training Programme that offers additional training opportunities and a chance to meet other research students’ university wide. Thus, besides helping you develop your research, these different modes of learning will also help you with the PhD journey and accomplishing the different milestones, such Transfer and viva voce examination.

The NBS PhD programme can be undertaken either full-time or part-time, where the maximum registration period for a full-time PhD student is four years, and part-time students (PhD and Professional Doctorates) may be registered for a maximum of eight years.

Campus Information

City Campus

The City Campus is typical of Nottingham itself. It’s a place that’s big enough to inspire, and compact enough to provide a sense of community; one where our best and proudest traditions sit shoulder to shoulder with new theories, new practice and new possibilities. It’s the same mix of heritage and sass that sums up the city we love.
