Management BSc (Hons)

This innovative, internationally focused programme will help you develop the necessary business acumen to pursue a successful career as an entrepreneur, or in a multinational organisation. We provide a diverse, dynamic, well-connected environment where you will learn from industry experts as you prepare to launch a global career in business and management.

You will learn about the building blocks of business and management alongside the specialist fields of marketing, accounting and finance, data analysis, economics and entrepreneurship. The course is delivered in a unique way using problem-based learning and innovative teaching and coaching methods, allowing you to experience the dynamics that define the world of business and management.

You will study three modules in each half year and use the insight from theories to develop your understanding in practice. You will learn how to leverage this insight to build powerful relationships in the corporate world.

Your first year of study will take a problem-based learning approach. You will work individually and in groups to solve challenges, alongside business simulations, data insight and project work, equipping you for your compulsory summer internship, where you will put your learning into practice.

In the second year of study the focus is on design-thinking, and using this approach to solve challenges and build a more entrepreneurial mindset. You will explore numerous techniques including the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology, an innovative process designed to enhance innovation and business performance. In the second half of the second year you can choose to study abroad at one of our partner institutions or to work on live business challenges in our unique business lab. You will then undertake a compulsory global summer internship.

The final year of study is future-focused and you, alongside your academic mentor, will undertake reverse mentoring with our NBS alumni, further personalising and deepening your insight and learning. You will also be involved in mentoring the first year students and setting up and running our unique NBS Challenge module.

City Campus

The City Campus is typical of Nottingham itself. It’s a place that’s big enough to inspire, and compact enough to provide a sense of community; one where our best and proudest traditions sit shoulder to shoulder with new theories, new practice and new possibilities. It’s the same mix of heritage and sass that sums up the city we love.
