Bachelor of Science (Mathematics)

This program allows you to specialise in mathematics, statistics or a combination of both. You will develop skills that enable you to model and solve real-world problems using mathematical techniques. This will lead to a wide range of career options in commercial and government institutions.

A Bachelor of Science (Mathematical Science) provides you with a strong background in key analytical techniques that have contemporary applications such as the treatment and interpretation of data and the modelling of real-world problems. You will develop skills that allow you to model and solve real world problems using mathematical techniques and have the opportunity to specialise in mathematics, statistics or a combination of both. This will provide you with a wide range of career options in commercial and government institutions, which require highly-skilled problem-solvers. There are also a range of majors (e.g. Biology, Chemistry) and sub-majors offered in Science that can add diversity and/or focus to your degree. You can also choose from a range of sub-majors from other disciplines such as the arts, business, humanities and social sciences, although these may require cross campus study and are subject to availability and timetabling. Graduates may be eligible for membership of the Australian Mathematical Society and the Statistical Society of Australia, depending on the units studied.

  • Successful completion of AISCE (CBSE) with an overall GPA of 60% in the best 4 core subjects
