Bachelor of Science (Chemistry)
This program recognises the importance of chemistry in our environment and provides a framework for intellectual inquiry and a means of improving people’s lives. The Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) course has been designed to provide graduates with the knowledge and understanding to take part in scientific investigation and be able to solve current chemical problems.
The chemistry program provides a strong background in the key topic areas of analytical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry. Graduates will develop skills applicable in contemporary chemical research and industry as well as related fields in the environment, health and medical sciences and pharmaceutical industry. The course has a strong emphasis on practical laboratory skills as well as the theoretical aspects of modern chemistry. This program recognises the importance of chemistry in industry and our environment and provides a framework for intellectual inquiry and a means of helping improve people's lives. The Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) at Western Sydney University also provides a strong background in the key topic areas of contemporary chemistry, including aspects of chemistry theory, practical laboratory skills and applications in contemporary research, industry and the environment. A research project is available to students in the final year of the degree.
