PGCE Secondary Geography with QTS (11-16)

If you are applying to start on our September 2021 programme which starts on Tuesday 31st August 2021, the deadline for applications is 9am on Friday 13th August 2021. To allow your application time to reach us from UCAS Teacher Training before the deadline, we recommend that you complete your UCAS Teacher Training application (including complete references) no later than Wednesday 11th August 2021.

We’ve designed our highly-rated PGCE Secondary Geography with QTS so that you will graduate knowing how to confidently devise and deliver interesting lessons to engage young minds about our planet’s people, places, landscapes, processes and connections.

You will be supported by our expert tutors to plan, resource and deliver lessons to pupils of all secondary ages and abilities. This means that you will leave the course knowing how to teach effectively while also maintaining the interest and enthusiasm of your pupils.

Our PGCE course includes QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and we will also help you apply for a position as a secondary school teacher during the course.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Postgraduate

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
English Language: IELTS 6.5 with at least 6.0 in each section (or equivalent).

Masters, PgC or PgD - 6.5 (with at least 5.5 in each component)

MSc Occupational Therapy, MSc Physiotherapy and MA Social Work - 7.0 (with no less than 6.5 in any one section)
PhD - 6.0 in the 4 areas: Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing with an overall score of 6.5

Please note that in order to be eligible for registration with the HCPC, all test certificates must be dated within two years of the date that they receive your application.

If you need a tier 4 visa, you must check the Home Office acceptable SELT listing to ensure acceptability.
