Advanced diploma in computing and information technology
The course aims to provide students with a solid foundation and analytical problem-solving apporach in diffrent aspectes of Computing and Information Technology. It helps students acquire knowledge and skills up to professional level, strengthening their understanding of computing and information technology. Industrial attachment is an integral part of students’ educational development of this course. It is providing opportunities for students to gain a real-world understanding of the complexities and demands of the industry and their career prospects. Through a 6-month internship in an organisation, students will gain valuable work experience to enhance their professional prospects further and applying thinking relating tothe complexities and unclear problems to develop innovative solutions in the IT and Computing industry.

Graduates of this Advanced Diploma will be equipped with the solid foundation in Computing and Information Technology which enable them able to pursue a career in the Computing and Information Technology world (e.g. Database Administrator, System/Network Executive, System Analyst, Application Developers, Project Executive (IT), IT Project Management and Local and International ICT firms) or to progress in the current areas or additional knowledge to excel in the workplace.
PSW Opportunity
- The International Students studying in certain institutions in Singapore are allowed to work part time for 16 hours per week as mentioned on the Ministry of Manpower website of Singapore.
- Students who have studied in the institutions mentioned on the Ministry of Manpower website of Singapore are allowed to apply for a Long Term Visitor Pass.
- They are allowed to look for a job during this time period.This is for 12 months.If the students get a job during this time period, the employer may sponsor for an Employment pass.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
- Completion of GSTM Specialist Diploma in Computing and Information Technology or equivalent; OR
- Polytechnic Diploma in a relevant field (e.g. Computing/ Computer Science/ Information Technology or related field); OR
- Other PEI qualification (e.g. Diploma in Computing/ Computer Science/ Information Technology or related field is equivalent to GSTM’s Specialist Diploma) will be assessed on a case by case basis; OR
- Matured student: At least 30 years old with at least 8 years of relevant working experience will be considered.
English Language Requirement:
- A pass in English at GCE’ O’ Level or IELTS 5.5 and or equivalent; OR
- Completed a prior Diploma or equivalent where the medium of instruction is English
