BSc (Hons) Community Specialist Practitioner District Nursing

Features of the programme:

The programme is 50% theory and 50% practice within District Nursing under the supervision of a qualified Practice Assessor and Practice Supervisor
The programme can be studied full time over 52 weeks or part time over 104 weeks / Distance Learning
The programme can be studied at BSc (Hons) if you hold a Diploma or at Post-Graduate Diploma if you hold a degree (1st or 2:1 classification) and wants to advance to level 7 (Master’s level)
Successful students will have a specialist practitioner qualification recorded with the NMC
The programme utilises an integrated theory and practise approach that will develop skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary for safe and effective specialist practice

Graduate destinations
Successful students have typically progressed their career into District Nursing Sister/Charge Nurse; District Nurse Team Leader; Clinical improvement lead; Clinical Service Manager; Risk and Safety Manager with some students choosing to develop their careers within other NHS specialist roles.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate
 
Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (Standard X & XII) 60% plus in 10th AND in 12th grade or  50% plus in 10th AND 65% plus in 12th.
 
English Language: IELTS 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each section (or equivalent).
 
Recognised Qualification Grade / Score
IELTS 6.0 (with at least 5.5 in each component)
GCSE / IGCSE / O level English / IGCSE English as a first language Grade C
For BSc Nursing, Midwifery, Occupational Therapy and Social Work, the following scores are required within the IELTS qualification:
 
At least 7.0 in the listening and reading, writing and speaking sections and at least an overall score of 7.0 out of a possible 9.
For BSc Physiotherapy and Diagnostic Radiography, an overall score of 7.0 with no section scoring less than 6.5 is required within the IELTS qualification.
Please note that in order to be eligible for registration with the HCPC, all test certificates must have been achieved within two years of the date that they receive your application.
 
If you need a tier 4 visa, you must check the Home Office acceptable SELT listing to ensure acceptability.
 
In addition to the overall score, we will require minimum scores for each part of the IELTS Academic test.
