The Bachelor of Health Science draws upon the world-leading strengths of ANU in medical education, biomedical science, population health, psychology, social science and public policy to prepare you for a future in medical, allied health and health-related professions.
It will equip you with a broad understanding of the themes explored in advanced studies of medicine and offers a potential pathway to the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery at ANU.

Campus Information
Acton campus
Our Acton campus is in the heart of Canberra - Australia's capital city - in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). From here it's an easy walk, bike ride or drive to some of Australia's most significant political and cultural institutions including Australian Parliament House. Amongst our modern lecture halls, libraries, laboratories, student residences and administration buildings, you'll find all the conveniences of a small suburb including cafes, bars, supermarkets, child care centres, a newsagency, post office and even a medical centre.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Applicants who complete a recognized secondary/senior secondary/post-secondary/tertiary sequence of study will be assessed on the basis of an equivalent selection rank that is calculated upon application. Diversity factors & English language proficiency
As Australia's national university, ANU is a global representative of Australian research and education. ANU endeavors to recruit and maintain a diverse and deliberate student cohort representative not only of Australia but the world. In order to achieve these outcomes, a competitive ranking of applicants may be adjusted to ensure access to ANU is a reality for brilliant students from countries across the globe. If required, the competitive ranking may further be confirmed on the basis of demonstrating higher-level English language proficiency.
A score of 70% or more with no section less than 65%
Academic IELTS An overall score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component of the test.
TOEFL paper based test A score of 570 with a TWE* score of 4.5.
TOEFL internet based test An overall score of 80, with a minimum of 20 in Reading and Writing and 18 in Speaking and Listening.
Cambridge CAE Advanced (Post 2015) An overall score of 176 with a minimum of 169 in all sub-skills.
PTE Academic An overall score of 64 with a minimum score of 55 in each of the communicative skills.
At a minimum, all applicants must meet program-specific academic/non-academic requirements, and English language requirements. Admission to most ANU programs is on a competitive basis. Therefore, meeting all admission requirements does not automatically guarantee entry.
In line with the university's admissions policy and strategic plan, an assessment for admission may include competitively ranking applicants on the basis of specific academic achievement, English language proficiency and diversity factors.
The academic rank is derived from the following qualifications and includes any eligible adjustments:
- An Australian year 12 qualification or international equivalent; OR
- A completed Associate Diploma, Associate Degree, AQF Diploma, Diploma, AQF Advanced Diploma, Graduate Certificate or international equivalent; OR
- At least one standard full-time year (1.0 FTE) in a single program of degree level study at an Australian higher education institution or international equivalent; OR
- An approved tertiary preparation course unless subsequent study is undertaken.
