Do you remember the Primary teacher who inspired you? This course, with recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), will equip you with the knowledge, skills and understanding to become an outstanding Primary School Teacher, using a blend of school and University-based training.

Mentors and University tutors support you whilst on placement as you begin to teach individuals, small groups and on to whole class teaching in the 5-11 age range; helping them make sense of their world and preparing them for life in the 21st Century.

Bedford

The Bedford campus has lots of green open spaces while being very close to Bedford town centre and local amenities. It boasts our Gateway building, a three-storey building that offers high-quality teaching spaces, informal learning spaces, lecture theatres and a new student services centre.

PSW Opportunity

  • 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
  • 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Special entry requirements

  • A standard equivalent to a grade 4 (or GCSE A to C) in the GCSE examinations in English, Mathematics and Science.
  • To have IELTS with an average score of at least 6.0 if your first language is not English and you do not have GCSE grade C in English
  • A successful interview
  • Meet all safeguarding requirements including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) check, Fitness to Practice, Suitability to Train to Teach, and all other safeguarding checks required at the time of application

The normal entry requirements for postgraduate degrees are a good honours degree in an appropriate subject from a recognised university.

We may also consider candidates with other relevant qualifications and individuals with substantial related work experience.

Applicants who not have English as a first language will be required to demonstrate they have the correct level of English for their course.
