PhD Systems Science
The Hull University Business School (HUBS) offers PhD research degrees in a number of research groups, including Accounting and Finance. On campus facilities for postgraduate research students are excellent - the Business School has a dedicated work room with cutting-edge facilities. PhD students have exclusive access to the Postgraduate Lounge in the newly refurbished Brynmor Jones Library, while all our research students can make use of facilities in the University's Graduate School. The Business School also subscribes to a full range of professional business information services including Reuters Datastream, Reuters Thomson One, Bloomberg, Wharton Research Data Services (including Compustat), Bankscope, and FAME to enhance your data exploration.
PhD candidates, meanwhile, have the opportunity to add to the sum of knowledge in their chosen field by producing an original piece of research. At Hull, we will give you close support on your journey as well as help you find opportunities to boost your knowledge by working with researchers and attending conferences. Our PhD is a four year full-time programme which will require you to complete the equivalent of 540 credits worth of research, including both research specialist modules and research thesis preparation.
