M.A. – English
The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences was established at the very inception of the university in 2013 with the Department of English as one of the first branches from Humanities. In the year 2019, three new departments/courses, namely Economics, Political Science and Psychology were added. The vision of all the four departments in Humanities and Social Sciences, that is, English, Economics, Political Science and Psychology is to nurture the love for knowledge and an understanding of the current society/world through an interdisciplinary engagement, and also, to develop an academic ecosystem which is cohesive and inclusive so as to promote high quality and sustainable academic delivery.
Apart from the above-mentioned subjects/courses, an integral part of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences is the Personality Development Department (PDD) which assists the students across various courses such as Humanities, Sciences and Engineering to develop one's personality holistically and accomplish the objectives by understanding one's true potential. The PDD through its devoted 'Proficient Navigator' assists the students in achieving future professional development by helping the students select the correct courses and modules which are best suited for the potential that an individual has and can further achieve.
The various departments of Humanities are committed for Interdisciplinary, Multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches in teaching, learning and research.

We firmly believe in encouraging research activities among the students whereby they may continue learning and researching in their area of interest long after their graduation, and this quest for knowledge should become a lifelong partner.
