Eagle Flight Training – The Aviation School Of New Zealand

Gisborne , North Island ,New Zealand

Commercial Pilot Training Programme (CPL Course)

The motivation to achieve a CPL rating is very often driven by a desire to work in the Aviation Industry as a Professional Pilot or other related role. For others, the aspiration is to reach a higher standard of flying and understanding of the Aviation Environment than that required to achieve a PPL Licence. Irrespective of the motivation, successfully achieving a CPL rating is likely to be a life changing experience.

The sense of achievement and fulfilment that comes with experiencing flight as a pilot in command, is often considered to be profound. The Commercial Pilots licence will be the minimum entry criteria for a Professional Pilot role within a Commercial Aviation Organisation. The achievement of a CPL is a very significant life milestone, irrespective of whether the purpose is for pleasure or a “gateway” to an Aviation career. The journey in achieving a CPL is in a sense like learning anything else that is new. You will need to apply yourself to the theoretical subjects and practical elements at a level that ensures steady progression through the project.

Please feel free to call and discuss a Training Plan with Eagle Flight Training limited.

The Pilot Training Scheme is designed to cover the syllabus and practical flight skills required to qualify for a Commercial Pilot Licence. With no prior flying experience required, you will be trained to become a competent Commercial Pilot typically within 200-220 hours depending on your ability. (CAA of NZ requires a minimum of 200 hours total flight time for a CPL) Students will receive theoretical training initially, followed by flight training commencing upon satisfactory academic progress.  Typically, 10-15 hours flight time is required to fly solo. After successfully completing the prerequisites for the issue of a PPL, students can apply for a PPL license to the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand (CAA). Subsequently, students will progress on through phases 3 to 5, with the objective of completing the CPL Course.
