Admission Requirements
The School of Business Administration offers a program leading to a Master of Business Administration degree. Concentrations are available in the areas of cyber-security, finance, and marketing.
Applicants to the MBA Program should submit the following information in addition to the online application:
- An earned undergraduate degree is required for admission to the MBA program. Official academic records of all previously attended colleges or universities must be submitted directly from the colleges or universities to the Office of Graduate Admission Processing. Hand-carried transcripts, official copies marked Issued to Student and unofficial copies are not acceptable. A GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
- A current resume is required.
- Official GMAT scores (minimum score of 500 and a 19 on the verbal) or official GRE scores (minimum verbal score of 149 and quantitative score of 146) may be required.
- An essay response is required (see instructions below).
- A personal statement is optional (see instructions below).
Essay Instructions: This admission essay will be used to evaluate your written communication abilities (assessing grammar, organization, clarity, and the ability to follow instructions), provide insight as to the type of student you will be in the program, and assess the value you will bring to the MBA classroom. Please read the three essay prompts carefully and provide a well-written response that addresses each question. Your essay should be 500 - 750 words only and double-spaced. Please include your name and date of birth on each page.
Essay Prompts: (1) What skills learned or attributes gained from your academic background will ensure your success in pursuing your MBA at the University of Dayton? (2) What skills learned or attributes gained from your professional experiences will ensure your success in pursuing your MBA at the University of Dayton? (3) How will this degree assist you in reaching your personal and professional goals?
Optional Personal Statement Instructions: Please use the optional statement to address areas of your academic and/or professional histories that may benefit from further clarification. For example, the optional statement could include details on gaps in work experience, circumstances surrounding poor academic performance/disciplinary actions, or explanations concerning legal disciplinary action. As with the admission essay, this statement should also be well-written and reflect your writing abilities. The optional statement should be no more than one page, double-spaced. Please include your name and date of birth.
