Graduate Diploma in Heritage Studies
The Graduate Diploma in Heritage Studies comprises non-fieldwork units from the Master of Heritage Studies. The advanced course develops the skills of heritage professionals working in government, museums and heritage agencies or graduates who seek a new career in the conservation industry. Those who successfully complete the diploma may obtain credit towards the Master of Heritage Studies.
Heritage Studies is a cross-disciplinary strategic research area at UWA, providing increased research opportunities and capabilities for students. You will study both tangible and intangible heritage including natural, cultural and Indigenous heritage. You'll learn to understand heritage issues and to work with industries and governments to record, manage, protect and present heritage objects, places and traditions in partnership with communities. Western Australia is heritage-rich, with 50,000+ years of tangible Indigenous heritage and vibrant intangible heritage traditions. This course is taught jointly through the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Education, and the School of Indigenous Studies.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
(1) To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have—
(a) a Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA;
and
(b) the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 50 per cent;
and
(c) succesfully completed prior study in a field relevant to Heritage Studies; or
(2) completed a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Heritage Studies at UWA.
