Geography and Geoscience, BSc
Our state-of-the-art, purpose-built, Science Teaching Hub is due to open in early 2022, providing students with a digitally focussed environment including advanced analytical tools, research-grade equipment and flexible, safe laboratory spaces. Students will have access to research-grade equipment to best prepare them for their future career, whilst the digitally focussed, completely paperless environment allows for a more hands-on learning experience.
The programme covers the core courses as taught on the standard Geography MA and BSc degrees, in the first two years.
Geoscience as a discipline focuses primarily on the scientific elements dealing with planet Earth. Within Geoscience, Geography sits as a key discipline. This degree introduces the key core components of our Geography degree but also allows the student to explore other key Geoscience related disciplines in greater detail.
Other key areas that sit within Geoscience include Geology, Hydrology and Ecology are covered in the programme, with courses such as; Space, Economy and Society, Remote Sensing, Mapping Techniques etc. There is also the opportunity to take part in field trips to enhance your studies.

The Old Aberdeen campus is the historic heart of the University and combines immaculately preserved buildings with state-of-the-art facilities for learning, research and recreation. The Schools incorporating the Arts and Social Sciences and Physical Sciences are based here.

Arts: At Standard XII a minimum percentage of 75% overall. Additionally, a minimum percentage of 80% in English at Standard XII or our normal English language requirements. The University of Aberdeen will also accept successful completion of the first year of a University degree programme as qualifying for first-year entry.
Science: At Standard XII a minimum percentage of 75% overall, including 75% or more in two science subjects, or Mathematics and a science subject. A minimum grade of 75% is required where the prospectus specifies good performance in a particular subject. Additionally, a minimum percentage of 80% in English at Standard XII or our normal English language requirements
