Spanish is the second most widely spoken language after English in the western hemisphere and is currently spoken by 350 million native Spanish speakers including 19 Latin American countries. Not only is it the second language in many parts of the USA, but Spanish is also the fastest growing modern language in the UK.
You will grow your skills in Spanish - whether starting as a beginner or advanced - and you will explore the history, films, visual culture, literature and politics of Latin America, taught by experts internationally recognised as leaders in their fields.
As an integral part of your 4-year programme, you will spend half of year three developing your language skills as a teaching assistant or visiting student in a Spanish-speaking country.

Arts: At Standard XII a minimum percentage of 75% overall. Additionally, a minimum percentage of 80% in English at Standard XII or our normal English language requirements. The University of Aberdeen will also accept successful completion of the first year of a University degree programme as qualifying for first-year entry.
Science: At Standard XII a minimum percentage of 75% overall, including 75% or more in two science subjects, or Mathematics and a science subject. A minimum grade of 75% is required where the prospectus specifies good performance in a particular subject. Additionally, a minimum percentage of 80% in English at Standard XII or our normal English language requirements
