Financial Management

Financial Management introduces you to the ways in which businesses are financed, how their financial performance is monitored and controlled, and how national and international factors may impact them.

Introduction to People, Work, and Organisations

This module aims to introduce you to the concepts and theories relevant to understanding the behaviour of people within work organisations – both as individuals and groups. It also examines organisational design and its impact on both the behaviour of individuals and their effectiveness at work.

Marketing Management

The aim of this module is to provide you with an introduction to marketing, a basic grounding in its theories and concepts, and an overview of marketing practice. This will enable you to understand marketing both as an organisational discipline and in its operational role within a business. Practical examples are provided through case studies to support or illustrate theory.

Quantitative Methods

Quantitative Methods introduces the ideas of statistics and financial mathematics within a business and organisational context. It also aims to provide you with the quantitative techniques required to summarise and present business data in a meaningful way.

Professional Practice for Business

This module is designed to help you build the professional and personal skills needed for success in your business studies – as well as developing core competences for employability that incorporate professionalism and ethical practice.

Economics for Business

The aim of this module is to give you a solid foundation in economic theory that will enable you to understand the environment within which business functions. You will consider economic decision-making by individuals and businesses, the impact of government policies and actions on businesses, and the influence of wider economic and political groupings of states.
