Part of UP Education, Campbell offers non-IELTS pathways to Foundation Studies at Victoria University of Wellington. We’re also an NZQA Category 1-rated English language school, which means we offer work rights for students wishing to work while they study.

Our most popular English course for students from beginners to advanced level, General English is the ideal way to improve English for study, travel, work and life!
IELTS Exam Preparation
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) assesses the English language proficiency of people who want to study or work where English is used as the language of communication. This course prepares you to sit the IELTS exam – Academic or General modules.
Cambridge Exam Preparation
This course is for students wanting to sit the Cambridge suite of exams, including the Certificate of Advanced English (CAE), which is widely used as a benchmark for entry into colleges and universities in the UK, US, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
PTE Academic Exam Preparation
This programme is for students who need to pass a PTE Academic exam. The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) is an English test trusted by universities, colleges and governments around the world.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Campbell English
General English
Students must be over 14. Our internal testing system determines the level you start studying at, from Elementary to Advanced.
IELTS Exam Preparation
Students must be over 14, with English language proficiency at Intermediate level or above.
Cambridge Exam Preparation
Students must be over 14, with English language proficiency at Upper Intermediate level or above.
PTE Academic Exam Preparation
Students must be over 14, with English language proficiency at Intermediate level or above.
Campbell Pathways
Campbell Pre-Foundation
Students must be over 16, with English language proficiency at Intermediate level or above.
Campbell Pre-Vocational
Students must be over 16, with English language proficiency at Intermediate level or above.
High School Students
Students must be 14 or over.
Teacher Training
CELTA course
Students must be 20+, with English language proficiency at an Advanced level, or be a native English speaker.
Campbell English + Work
Campbell Demi Au Pair Programme
Students must be aged between 18 and 30, with English language proficiency at Intermediate level or higher. They should have childcare experience (e.g. babysitting, voluntary work), and provide childcare references and submit to a police check. Please see the Demi Au Pair Programme application form for a full list of requirements.
Campbell Barista Training
Students must be 16+ with English language proficiency at Intermediate level or above.
