You will be prepared for a rewarding career in a global industry which has continuous demand for well-trained and motivated people.
You may find yourself working on a wide range of foreign going ships from cruise liners, ferries and container vessels through to support vessels in the oil and gas industry.
This programme, combined with sea time and Maritime New Zealand requirements, entitles you to apply for the Engine Watch Rating (EWR).
You will gain the required knowledge, skills and experience for eventual seagoing employment as a EWR on board commercial ships.

PSW Opportunity
- During study, all students on a student visa can work up to 20 hours per week during semester and full time during vacations.
- After completing Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Qualification, a student will get a three years open post-study work visa.
- After completing Level 8 Post Graduate courses of 1 year, students get 1 year PSW.

Diploma Level Programmes
All India Senior School Certificate (10+2) or equivalent with with passes of 55% in 4 academic subjects
Degree Level Programmes
All India Senior School Certificate (10+2) or equivalent with with passes of 70% in 4 academic subjects
Certificate Programmes
Most certificate programmes require applicants to have completed Year 12 or equivalent of secondary school. Please contact MIT International for further information.
English Language Equivalents
IELTS (Academic) 6.5; no one score below 6.0: TOEFL 575 (230), TWE 4.5. MIT ELP 6.5.
