A qualification in Career Development at level 6 or higher fulfils part of the requirements of full membership for Career Development Association of New Zealand (CDANZ).

PSW Opportunity
- During study, all students on a student visa can work up to 20 hours per week during semester and full time during vacations.
- After completing Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Qualification, a student will get a three years open post-study work visa.
- After completing Level 8 Post Graduate courses of 1 year, students get 1 year PSW.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
If you are seeking entry at Level 5, you are required to have:
- a) University Entrance which is NCEA Level 3 comprised of 60 credits at NCEA Level 3 or above and 20 credits at NCEA Level 2 or above, including:
- i) 14 credits each at NCEA Level 3 in three approved subjects; and
- ii) Literacy (10 credits at NCEA Level 2 or above made up of 5 credits each in reading and writing); and
- iii) Numeracy (10 credits at NCEA Level 1 or (above)
Or
- b) A relevant qualification at Level 4 on the NZQF;
Or
- c) Equivalent.
Special entry
If you are aged 20 years or above and have not met the general admission or entry requirements for the programme but your skills, education or work experience indicate that you have a reasonable chance of success, you may be eligible for special admission.
Special admission will be granted at the discretion of the relevant Head of Department or delegate. You may be required to successfully complete a foundation, bridging or tertiary introductory programme as a condition of entry into higher level programmes.
Entry from other career qualifications
For applicants wishing to progress to the third year of the degree from the Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance, or the Level 7 Diploma in Advanced Career Guidance, or an equivalent career qualification, a pathway is available. Applicants will be provided with this information and the opportunity to discuss requirements.
