BACHELOR OF SPORT AND RECREATION - YEAR 3

After successfully completing the NorthTec Level 6 diploma, you can gain this AUT degree in your third year. You’ll develop advanced skills in coaching and sport science, and will work in the sport and recreation industry two days a week to put your skills into practice and develop networks to assist you into employment. You’ll learn to integrate disciplines of sports science at an advanced level, and explore theories of sports science, physical health and advanced coaching. By learning advanced skills, you’ll be able to reflect critically on your own practice and process complex information related to your field. Courses for this programme include Applied Sports Nutrition, Athlete Conditioning, Food, Nutrition and Community Health, Integrated Coaching Practice, Pedagogy and Performance Sport. There are also a range of special topics that you can choose from.
