Bachelor of Science in Communication - Sports Information
The sports communication concentration takes the many aspects of communication and applies them to sports, relying most heavily on skills in public relations and journalism. Sports communication professionals have a variety of daily responsibilities, such as compiling statistics, writing press releases, and coordinating interviews with the media.
CURRICULUM
Sports communication students closely follow the curriculum for the public relations concentration and take a Sports Media class as one of the electives. While taking classes, you'll learn skills valuable to working professionally with sports teams. You'll also have the chance to develop broadcasting and print journalism techniques in a variety of media, including, radio, television, print and online platforms.
