Bachelor of Arts in Accounting
Accounting is one of those areas where you get to be something once you've graduated. Whether you pursue the CPA or non-CPA track, being able to say you're an accountant will open doors for you in the future. In fact, there?s always a need for accountants, even when the economy takes a downturn. Applied Learning is the key to the UIndy School of Business. From managing a portfolio of real money in the UIndy Student Fund to working directly with clients on project management, UIndy student ?learn by doing.? Both undergraduate and graduate courses are taught by dedicated faculty, many of whom have many years of real-world experience they bring to the classroom. In addition to the classroom, students gain valuable internship experiences at nearly 100 different businesses each year and are well-prepared to enter the job market or advance in their careers upon graduation.
DEGREE OPTIONS
You can choose one of two tracks: CPA and non-CPA.
CPA TRACK
UIndy is an accredited university that qualifies graduates with 150 credit hours to take the CPA exam for public accountancy licensure in Indiana. To earn the additional 30 hours of credit over a 120-credit bachelor’s degree, you can choose to pursue the Accelerated BS/MBA Program or double major.
Accelerated BS/MBA Program - earn both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in five years
Double Major - pick a complementary major to earn the extra 30 credits; still finish in four years if you take summer classes
NON-CPA TRACK
With a traditional four-year accounting degree, you can find jobs in private and governmental accounting and qualify for other professional certifications, including Certified Management Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Fraud Examiner.

Job Opportunity Potential
Worldwide recruitment in filling both short and long-term positions is essential to the realization of UIndy’s mission as a global university. Hiring a foreign national employee differs significantly from hiring a U.S. citizen and hiring units may need to obtain employment authorization before the individual can work in the United States.
