Bachelor of Education – Secondary
The Bachelor of Education program at Crandall University is one of the most respected teacher preparation programs in Eastern Canada. A Crandall Education degree prepares you to teach in virtually any classroom, anywhere.
The goal of our Bachelor of Education program is to graduate teachers who will become student-centered educational leaders with a commitment to the important mission of educating generations to come.
Upon successful completion of the Bachelor of Education degree, you will be well prepared to take on teaching challenges in a broad range of classroom settings. You will also be eligible to apply for a New Brunswick Level 5 Teaching Certificate, which equips you to teach in the elementary or secondary school classroom.

Job Opportunity Potential
Crandall’s Bachelor of Education program has an excellent reputation in the public schools, which often translates into job offers shortly after graduation. Graduates of our program have gone on to teach in public schools, community colleges and at international institutions. Many pursue advanced degrees at graduate school.

> If your program was less than 8 months
You aren’t eligible for a PGWP.
> If your program was more than 8 months but less than 2 years
We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.
For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.
> If your program was 2 years or more
We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.
> If you completed more than 1 program
You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.
Each of the programs you completed -
must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
- Secondary school applicants need to have achieved in their final year of schooling an average of 70% (5 best scoring academic subjects).
- Applicants who are looking to transfer from another post-secondary institution are required to have an overall GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.3 scale).
In addition to a strong academic record, evidence of professional suitability, supported by reference letters, and previous work or volunteer experience with children, is required.
