UAL Level 1 Diploma in Art & Design and Media

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR
The Level 1 Award and Diploma in Art, Design and Media are designed to provide students who are intrigued and motivated by art and design with opportunities to explore, develop and test their creativity. It aims to introduce you to the skills and techniques used in art and design, allowing you to explore, develop and test your creativity within a structure that will provide a sound base of skills and knowledge.

COURSE CONTENT
You will develop your skills in drawing, printing techniques, painting, ceramics, stop frame animation and digital art as well as exploring other artists work. You will also work to improve English and Maths skills if required through Functional Skills.

STUDY METHODS
Taught sessions with practical workshops

HOW IS THE COURSE ASSESSED
You will cover seven units over the year. The first six you are building and developing your skills and these are graded as a pass. The final project for unit 7 will give you the opportunity to explore your own art style and interests. This is graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction and will give you the overall grade for the course.
