MA Childhood and Youth Studies
This unique course allows you to choose from three different pathways, depending on your interests, previous experience and career goals. You may want to develop your understanding of children, childhood and youth by enrolling on the MA Childhood and Youth Studies. Others who want to further their understanding and develop their practice can undertake the MA Childhood and Youth Studies (Early Years-Graduate Practitioner Competencies) or MA Childhood and Youth Studies (Youth Work, professionally validated and recognised by JNC)*. Tutors from the programme will support you in making decisions about which pathway would best suit your own situation.
A diverse range of learning opportunities and assessments are provided which encourage you to consider how academic understandings relate to professional practice for those working with children and young people. You will develop your knowledge and skills in research which will enable you to undertake advanced research in the social sciences and successfully undertake and complete advanced research projects.
*We are seeking JNC recognition as a professional youth and community work qualification for this programme, though the validation process is not yet complete.
