Football Studies, BSc (Hons)
If you love to play football, watch football, talk about football and have aspirations of working in football, then this course is for you. You will examine the football world from a range of perspectives, linking theory and practice. The course covers a wide range of topic areas that make up the football industry; media, fandom, coaching, development, business, management and events.
Preston has a strong football heritage: Preston North End are one of the founding members of the Football League; Dick, Kerr Ladies F.C. was founded in Preston; and the Headquarters of the Football League are based in the city. UCLan has strong links with the football industry, with relationships with both PNE F.C. and Burnley F.C., as well as other professional clubs locally. UCLan is a FA/BUCS Development Hub and a HE Partner of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA). The university is also in partnership with a national private football academy provider, Professional Football Academy. Therefore, there are lots of opportunities for our students to experience real world learning.
The course has been designed to allow students to choose options that reflect their personal interests and aspirations and allow flexibility of learning across the different football industry functions.

Preston
There are a variety of different ways you can access our Preston city campus, whether by rail, road or air. Preston is well served by the M6 motorway both north and south and excellent cross country rail links. There are also two major international airports in Manchester and Liverpool John Lennon.
