Arts and Festivals Management (Joint Honours) BA (Hons)

Arts and Festivals Management is the longest-running degree course of its kind in the UK and boasts enviable industry links. 

The course equips you with the skills in teamwork, marketing, and management theory, fundraising, business planning, licensing, health and safety, programming, and cultural policy, that you need to become a leader in the cultural arena in theatres, music venues, galleries, museums, and festivals. You will also deepen your understanding of academic debates across a range of topics, including running and promoting a venue, cultural leadership, arts and communities and engaging audiences. 

At DMU, you can study Arts and Festivals Management and Dance or Arts and Festivals Management and Drama as a joint honors course. You will choose 50% of your options from Arts and Festivals Management and 50% from Dance or Drama.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Entry criteria

  • 112 points from at least 2 A'levels or
  • BTEC Extended Diploma DMM or
  • International Baccalaureate: 26+ Points

Plus five GCSEs grades 9-4 including English Language or Literature at grade 4 or above.

  • Pass Access with 30 Level 3 credits at Merit (or equivalent) and GCSE  English (Language or Literature) at grade 4 or above.

We will normally require students who have had a break from full-time education before undertaking the Access course.

  • We also accept the BTEC First Diploma plus two GCSEs including English Language or Literature at grade 4 or above

Interview and Practical Workshop required: Yes – for Arts and Festivals Management and Dance only.

Interview and Practical Workshop

UK applicants with relevant qualifications will be invited to a practical workshop and interview. Overseas applicants will be invited to send samples of their performance work. 

India

  • Minimum of 65% average in your four best subjects (excluding Hindi) in Standard 12. We may also check your standard 10 results in English and Maths.
  • For Engineering courses, you will need a minimum of 60% in Maths. 

2nd year - 3rd-year Undergraduate:

Sri Lanka

  • 55-65% in three A-levels, depending on the course you choose.
