Master of Finance (Global Investment and Trade)

Our Master of Finance (Global Investment and Trade) will equip you with the skills to manage critical issues facing global trade and international business and finance.

This degree will provide you with an in-depth understanding of the interconnections between institutions and global financial markets and the implications of changing regulation and policy.

Using state-of-the-art market simulation programs in our Iress Trading Room on campus, you will gain hands-on experience and further understand the intricacies behind international investment. You can also choose to enhance your business consulting skills and experience through a professional placement in Australia or overseas.

You will graduate with the skills to apply financial theory to the real-world challenges faced by senior investment professionals working in a global environment. 

The Master of Finance (Global Investment and Trade) is made up of 16 courses including two electives and two specialisation electives. You will study core courses in business and global investment and trade and select from specialised electives such as Behavioural Finance, International Business: Strategy and Ethics or Applied Research in Finance. One of your elective options is also a 150-hour industry placement either in Australia or overseas.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Applicants are required to have one of the following:

  • A completed bachelor degree from a recognised higher education institution or equivalent; or
  • A completed graduate diploma from a recognised higher education institution; or
  • A completed graduate certificate from a recognised higher education institution.

Applicants who have:

  • completed a bachelor degree in a business discipline; or
  • completed a bachelor degree which includes a major in business, commerce, marketing or management; or
  • completed a graduate certificate in a business discipline,

are eligible to enter the program with 0.5 EFTSL (18 units) Advanced Standing and complete the program in 1.5 years of full time study or equivalent part time study.
