The Master of Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations produces graduates who are effective strategic business partners, confident employee advocates, administrative experts, knowledgeable change agents, persuasive professional communicators and discerning researchers. Graduate as an ethically aware practitioner in the field of human resources and employment relations.
The program is accredited by the Australian Human Resource Institute (AHRI) and is reviewed every three years to ensure content is relevant to industry needs.
Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) are available for this course for eligible domestic students. This means that your course fees are subsidised by the Australian Government and you pay a student contribution amount (SCA). CSPs are limited in number and are allocated based on academic merit.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for admission, an applicant is required to have:
- an Australian bachelor's degree with honours or higher in any discipline with a credit average (65 percent) or equivalent qualification or
- an Australian bachelor's degree or higher in a related discipline with a credit average (65 percent) or equivalent qualification or
- an Australian bachelor's degree in an unrelated discipline with a credit average (65 percent) or equivalent qualification, and relevant professional work experience (typically two years) or
- any of the above combinations of qualifications and/or experience with less than a credit average (minimum 50 percent required) and satisfactory performance in the GMAT (for guidance, the class average score is 630) or equivalent Business School approved admissions test or
- the University of Sydney Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations with a credit average (65 percent).
TOEFL - IBT score - A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 23 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 25 in Writing
IELTS score - A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 7.0 in each band
TOEFL - PBT score - A minimum result of 592 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing
Pearsons Test of English - A minimum result of 68 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
