Doctor of Philosophy - Creative Practice

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree is offered in all faculties of the University of New South Wales and encourages initiative and originality in research. Candidates should make a significant contribution to knowledge in their field. See UNSW Higher Degree Research Learning Outcomes.
This program involves a minimum of three years full-time study in which students undertake supervised research. The Creative Practice PhD normally consists of a portfolio of creative work and a dissertation of at least 45,000-50,000 words which should be submitted for examination within 4 years of full-time study.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
An appropriate four-year bachelor degree with first or upper second class honours from UNSW; or a completed masters by research from UNSW with a substantial research component and demonstrated capacity for timely completion of a high quality thesis; or a qualification from a tertiary institution at a level considered equivalent by the Faculty Higher Degree Committee.
