Asia Pacific Studies and International Relations BA

Asia Pacific Studies offers an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the cultural, political, social and economic issues in this dynamic and fast-growing region. Core modules will develop your knowledge of political and economic diversity and change across Asia Pacific over time, but you’ll also choose from optional modules exploring culture, religion, development, international relations, history, policy and business practices in China, Japan, Thailand and other states across the region.

International Relations offers the chance to learn about how states interact with each other, as well as the impacts and contributions of organisations such as the UN. You’ll combine core modules on key topics such security and the concepts, theories and research methods of international relations with a range of optional modules. You can explore topics that interest you, from the politics of aid to the complexities of Middle Eastern politics and the rise of extreme right parties in Europe.
