Bachelor of Arts - Religious Studies (Major)
The Religious Studies major covers the phenomenon of Christianity from the various perspectives including its origins, historical manifestations, and philosophical assertions. Students of Religious Studies will also be able to compare and contrast the Christian faith to other religions and explore the various social and explore the various social scientific connections to acting religiously.
Through lively classroom discussions and in-depth personal study, religious studies students gain a fresh perspective on their faith that will serve them well throughout life and may lead to additional study in seminary or graduate school.
- Look at the Christian faith from perspectives you’ve never explored that enhance your understanding of faith issues.
- Engage in interesting discussions that often carry on beyond the classroom.
- Join your class for field trips to museums and other such locations in specific classes.
- Participate in the Religious Studies Society that often welcomes speakers addressing specific topical themes and also debates timely issues among the membership.
- Consider pursuing a Youth Leadership Certificate that includes placement in a church or parachurch organization where you will assist as a youth leader.

Job Opportunity Potential
Religious studies students, like other humanities and social science graduates, are trained to interpret texts, rituals, art, and communities with rigor and sensitivity. Students are equipped for study and work in pastoral ministry, yes, but also for careers in education, government work, Law, international relations, diplomacy, social service, library science, and much more.

We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.
For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.

We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.
> If you completed more than 1 program
You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.
Each of the programs you completed -
must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
- Secondary school applicants need to have achieved in their final year of schooling an average of 70% (5 best scoring academic subjects).
- Applicants who are looking to transfer from another post-secondary institution are required to have an overall GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.3 scale).
