This programme prepares you for the many excellent career choices available to a professional chartered automotive engineer. Our placement students sometimes return to their final year studies with sponsorships and already holding job offers. We have links with all the major automotive companies in the UK and many abroad, and most Formula One racing teams have one of our graduates in their design team. Many other graduates decide to stay at the University and extend their automotive education at a postgraduate level.

Our graduates’ employment prospects are excellent. You can expect to be employed in design, manufacturing or testing in one of the major automotive companies in the UK or internationally. In fact, most Formula One teams have one of our graduates in their design team. Other graduates decide to stay with us and extend their automotive education at postgraduate level.

• BCC - Requires Maths A level. Other A Levels may come from a selection of either Engineering or Technology, Science, Design, Computing, or Business related subjects. General studies/critical thinking not accepted.

BTEC

• DMM -  Requires Extended Diploma in Engineering (DMM) to include Distinction in Further Maths

GCSE: Grade 4/C in English, Mathematics, and Science.

Undergraduate (year 1)

• Completion of the Standard XII Certificate with 60-70% depending on points tariff required by the UH course. Some courses may require specific subjects
• IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band for standard courses – some courses require higher
• Standard XII English with 65% will also be accepted

Undergraduate (year 2/3)

• Depending on qualifications and course - usually require 2/3 year Diploma post-Standard XII to be considered
