Photography in the Arts (BA)
Program Available at Swansea Campus
Based in the Dynevor Centre for Art, Design & Media in Swansea‘s city center, our Photography in the Arts program provides an exciting platform from which to explore the unique and critical position that the still and moving photographic image finds itself within the contemporary culture at this exciting time.
The course encourages you to explore and challenge the conventions of contemporary photographic art practice.
Underpinned by historical and critical research, you will be encouraged to undertake an extensive, risk-taking inquiry into the possibilities of photography, with individual creativity and personal ambition at the core of the course’s philosophy.
The program is predominantly self-directed and allows for a flexible approach to image-making in relation to both subject-matter and technique.

Our Swansea campuses have a reputation for innovative industry-led and career-driven programmes. Founded in 1853, the Swansea campus is spread across a number of dedicated centres – all within easy reach of the city centre. Each subject area has its own facilities with access to specialist equipment, learning resources, workshops and IT suites. Our new SA1 Swansea Waterfront development offers an exciting new location by the sea.

- Typically a minimum of two A-Levels and/ or other Level 3 qualifications or equivalent. There may be some specific course requirements to be taken into account.
Academic Qualifications
An overall average of 70% or above in Indian Standard XII
English Qualifications
An overall English Language level equivalent to an IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent) with no lower than 5.5 in reading writing, listening and speaking

Indian Standard XII - 70% or above in English Language component, awarded within two years of applying to the University.
