BSc (Hons) Archaeology
Evidence shows there’s been a huge surge in demand for archaeologists in the UK following a sharp rise in infrastructure projects, so there’s never been a better time to study this degree at BU.
You can take the degree as either a BA Archaeology or BSc according to whether you prefer an arts-based or scientific route. All students study the same first year so it’s easy to transfer from one to the other. Themes in Archaeology & Anthropology, and Societies of Prehistoric Europe, are both key highlights of the curriculum, among many others. There’s a combination of academic study and practical experience in place, producing highly skilled practitioners experienced in all forms of landscape survey, remote sensing, excavation and recording.

Talbot Campus
Talbot Campus is where the majority of our Faculties are located and is also where you'll find the main university facilities, such as The Sir Michael Cobham Library, the Student Centre and SportBU - a fully equipped sports centre and gym. There are many study spaces where you can work in groups or individually within the library and the Student Centre, as well as in the Purple Lounge.

Entry requirements for Bangladeshi students
BU International College Foundation Certificates
- You can undertake a Foundation Certificate before going on to an undergraduate course if you have successfully completed 12 years of schooling in Bangladesh and achieved a minimum of IELTS (Academic) 5.0.
Undergraduate courses
- You can apply to study for a Bachelor's degree from year one if you have a Bachelors's degree from a recognized Bangladeshi institution, with at least two years of study.
Entry requirements for Indian students
BU International College Foundation Certificates
- You can undertake a Foundation Certificate before going on to an undergraduate course if you have successfully completed 12 years of schooling in India and achieved a minimum of IELTS (Academic) 5.0.
Undergraduate courses
- You can apply to study for a Bachelor's degree from year one if you hold a Higher Secondary School Certificate/Standard XII and have achieved an average percentage of at least 65% (although some courses will require this to be higher).
