CERTIFICATE III IN FITNESS
The Certificate III in Fitness is your first step into the fitness industry. This national qualification allows you to be a ‘fitness instructor’. You will learn to assess, train and supervise clients in fitness centres and gyms.
What do you learn in a Certificate III in Fitness?
The Certificate III in Fitness course will prepare you to:
Fitness screen and assess new clients
Monitor a client’s fitness level and development
Provide fitness training to a single client or group of clients in a supervised and low risk setting
Provide advice on exercise and exercise equipment
Perform administration duties of the fitness centre or gym
Deliver first aid.

The program outcomes for this course are:
Workers qualified at a Certificate III level are primarily employed as gym or group instructors in a fitness or leisure facility.
A study pathway to the Certificate IV in Fitness.
Preparation for further study and vocational skills with development of study and research skills, language and literacy skills, communication skills, time management, planning and managing projects, interpersonal skills and the development of techniques.
Additional outcomes include the attainment of a First Aid Certificate.

- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
You must meet both the academic and English language requirements.
Academic Requirements
- Completion of at least the equivalent of Australian Year 10,
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- English Language Requirements
You must meet one of the following criteria:
- IELTS score of 5.5 (or equivalent), with no individual band score below 5.0; or
- ALG in-house English proficiency test that is equivalent to IELTS 5.5; or
- A Certificate IV level qualification (or higher) completed within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) in Australia within 2 years before starting this course; or
- Completion of the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education in Australia and in the English language within 2 years before starting this course.
