There are varied and exciting research opportunities in the fields of archaeology, anthropology, forensic sciences, and life & environmental sciences.
A Master’s by Research (MRes) allows you to explore a specific research question that interests you and by undertaking this degree within our Faculty of Science & Technology your research project will be developed in collaboration with our academic University staff who will provide you with specialist knowledge and supervisory input, while accessing BU's technical facilties and information resources.
Campus Information
Talbot Campus
Talbot Campus is where the majority of our Faculties are located and is also where you'll find the main university facilities, such as The Sir Michael Cobham Library, the Student Centre and SportBU - a fully equipped sports centre and gym. There are many study spaces where you can work in groups or individually within the library and the Student Centre, as well as in the Purple Lounge.
Lansdowne Campus
Our Lansdowne Campus is just a few minutes' walk away from Bournemouth town centre. It's home to our Faculty of Health & Social Sciences and where you'll find the Executive Business Centre (EBC), the facility used by the Bournemouth University Business School to deliver some of its postgraduate courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Entry requirements for Bangladeshi students
- You need to have a Master’s degree from a recognized Bangladeshi institution, which should follow a three or four-year Bachelor's degree.
Entry requirements for Indian students
- You need to have an Indian Bachelor's (Honours) degree from a recognized higher education institution in a relevant subject and to have met the minimum required grades.
Entry requirements for Nepalese
- You need to have a Master’s degree, following a three-year Bachelor's degree, to apply for one of our postgraduate taught courses.
Entry requirements for Sri Lankan students
- If you have been awarded a four-year Bachelor's degree by a recognized higher education institution in Sri Lanka, you can apply for a taught postgraduate degree at BU
