ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC PREPARATION

The EAP course helps students to improve their English to the level required for studying at a university in Australia. It also teaches students specific features of academic English, including essay structure, paraphrasing, referencing, note-taking, research skills, presentation language, and academic vocabulary.

The course is offered at two levels – EAP 1 and EAP 2. Each level normally takes 10 weeks to complete but can, depending on students’ grades, be completed in 5 weeks. Completion is based on exit exams and assignments at the end of the level.

In addition to our regular EAP course, we also offer EAP classes specifically for students who are going to study nursing or health sciences at university. These classes are offered only at EAP 2 level.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Entry requirements

Entry to EAP 1 requires IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.
Entry to EAP 2 requires IELTS 6.0 or equivalent or successful completion of EAP 1.
Students without external test results will be admitted to the EAP programme after successful completion of the IELI placement test.
