Bachelor of Fine Arts - Painting

Painting students explore a range of media and build formal, technical, and conceptual skills while also developing their personal vision. In class, traditional and contemporary practices are explored to prepare students for enriching careers as visual artists. Students in the program are not only taught by Montserrat’s diverse and talented faculty, their lessons are enhanced by frequent interaction with visiting artists, offering specialized courses and workshops for advanced- and self-directed study. The quality of faculty-student interaction and exhibition opportunities enable students to fully experience the painting medium while establishing distinctive, personal forms of expression. Montserrat’s Painting alumni are gallery artists, curators and entrepreneurs with their own successful businesses, as well as faculty members in schools, colleges, and universities.
