Master of Science - Civil Engineering

Civil engineering incorporates scientific and mathematical principles, which you will study in-depth as part of your graduate coursework. You will choose to specialize in one of three areas:  Structural engineering: the analysis, design and construction of buildings, bridges, ships, aircrafts and other vehicles of flight; Geotechnical engineering: the study and behavior of various soils to find ways of properly supporting all structures on the Earth and other planets; and, Construction management: the overall planning, coordination, and control of a construction project from beginning to completion. There are numerous lab assistantship and graduate research opportunities in this program, including the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, which recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. The fellowship includes a stipend to support international research and professional development.
