Master of Nursing (Acute Care)

The course aims to facilitate development of specialised knowledge, skills and attributes for application in a range of acute care nursing environments. Topics cover areas such as prevention and management of cardiovascular disease, managing high acuity surgical care, managing high acuity medical care, contemporary issues in paediatric nursing, critical care nursing theory, acute mental health nursing theory, principles of emergency nursing, and an acute care observational placement.

PSW Opportunity

International students studying at Flinders University will be eligible to access an additional year in Australia on a post-study work visa, which means Masters graduate can get up to 3 years of PSW visa. 

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must normally hold a nursing degree or equivalent and must be registered nurses in a country other than Australia. Applicants must also provide a supporting statement nominating their area of clinical preference in acute care nursing for university sourced observational professional experience placement. The course will not lead to registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
