This unique degree gives students the grounding to begin a career in government, public affairs, journalism, media, policy development, and of course, politics. This program is designed to combine political theory with real-life skills and workplace practices.
The politics component of this degree focuses on giving students a unique experience of how the big decisions are really made and on what basis they are made. In the journalism component, a specific perspective on the nature of traditional and new forms of journalism is offered, how it is created and how it impacts on our public consciousness. These areas fit together naturally and lend themselves to opportunities in journalism and public relations. Notre Dame also has a well-structured Politics & Journalism internship program which gives students crucial experience in the workplace, sending them down a new and exciting career path.

There has never been a better time to study law, politics and journalism as there are many opportunities emerging in the public, private and non-government sectors for graduates who are committed and trained in this area.
