Graduate Diploma in Science (Water Resources Management)

The program is designed to produce graduates who understand the issues facing water resource managers, have an advanced interdisciplinary knowledge in this field, and are able to strategically assess ways of addressing these issues.

The program enables you to pursue study in water resource management in depth or to gain a more generalised understanding of a wide range of water resources management subjects. We train you to apply management fundamentals to solve current problems and to anticipate, mitigate and prevent future problems in the area of water resources management. Masters students have the opportunity to undertake a major research project or a minor research project combined with an industry placement. Topics cover areas such as fundamentals of groundwater, ecohydrology, public health aspects of water quality, geographical information systems, and project management.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Applicants who do not hold the Graduate Certificate in Science (Water Resources Management) must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline of science and engineering such as agricultural science, biology, chemistry, earth sciences, mathematics, physics, and engineering disciplines such as civil and/or environmental engineering, from an approved tertiary institution.
