What this course is about
The Bachelor of Counselling prepares students to work in a multi-disciplinary environment and significantly enhances their counselling, pastoral and spiritual foundations. Students form a vision of the counsellor that reflects both individual and relational work, supportive and intensive therapies, psychological competence and theological congruence. The course requires a consistent commitment to supervision and personal and professional integration.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Admission criteria
A person may apply to enroll as a candidate for the Bachelor of Counselling if he or she:
- Is a self-insured, non-student member of a relevant professional body; and
- Satisfactorily completes an interview with a designated Course Advisor; and
- Has satisfactorily completed an eligible Advanced Diploma in Counselling.
Applicants with VET study
Undergraduate applicants are normally required to have the Victorian Certificate of Education, International Baccalaureate, or equivalent. Applicants with a prior VET qualification in theology or a related area may be eligible for credit at the undergraduate level.
Attend an interview
It is a requirement that all students attend an admissions interview with an academic advisor at a College. This will be a Course Advisor in the case of coursework applicants, and a Research Coordinator in the case of a higher degree by research applicants. The interview may be conducted by telephone or email or similar means. The purpose of the interview is to help you choose the right course, to ensure you meet the admission requirements, and to plan a program of study appropriate to your course and your needs.
