Computing (Virtual Reality & Industrial Simulation) BSc (Hons)

This programme teaches you the power of virtual reality and industrial simulation in Computing, with a focus on 2D formats and development for use within a variety of platforms. Our specialist course covers the fundamental principles that are important to computing technology and meeting future demands.

You will have an insight into the computing industry, investigating the wide reaching influences that computers and computing technology have on the world, whilst also making your own contributions to help you find your place within the industry.

You will be given a sound understanding of 2D and 3D graphics theory and techniques, development and artificial intelligence systems and mobile computing, as well as an appreciation of the relevance of multimedia technologies to today’s industry and commerce. During this course, you will reinforce your theoretical knowledge through practical work in our computer facilities.

Waterside Campus

In the summer of 2018 the University of Northampton moved to the brand-new Waterside Campus. This seven-year project saw a neglected brownfield site transformed into a successful and impressive new campus that facilitated a radical re-engineering of the University in terms of both teaching methodology and governance structures. aterside is a waterfront site of 24 hectares on the edge of the town centre. Its successful completion has turned a derelict site into a leading facility in the higher education sector. The project brief emphasised integration, of the University into the town and local community, and of departments, facilities and teams within the University itself. New pedestrian and road bridges and cycle routes link the site to the town, and public facilities and commercial outlets are part of a Waterside experience which continues beyond the University to local historic buildings and parks.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Standard entry requirements apply. A typical offer could be BCC at A-Level or DMM at BTEC. Applicants will be expected to have achieved GCSE Mathematics (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above.
