MEng in Chemical Engineering with Energy Engineering

Meeting tomorrow’s energy requirements will need professional engineers with an in-depth knowledge of how energy resources are processed, how they are managed and the impact energy generation has on the environment. Fossil-based fuels such as gas and oil continue to play a significant role in today’s global energy market. In addition, environmental developments with alternative energy sources mean that the technological background of engineers working in the energy sector needs to become much broader. This degree encompasses a range of technologies from oil and gas production, through to renewable resources

Program Structure
This 5-year program shares a common first 3 years with the BEng Chemical Engineering, with specialist topics being introduced in years 4 and 5. Final year students undertake a commercial tender exercise, working in multi-disciplinary groups to take on the role of a design house pitching for business to our industrial advisory board.

This program also offers the chance to study for The Diploma in Industrial Training (DIT) which allows students the chance to work in the chemical and process industry before completing their final year(s) of study.
