Sport MSc/MA
The MSc/MA Sport has three distinct and separate pathways of study allowing you to focus on Sport Science or Sport Management or Sports Media & Digital Marketing. You can elect to take study topics in your chosen area of interest and it allows you to design your master’s degree to meet your career aspirations.
Whether you wish to follow an applied career in an area of Sport, or go on to further study at the PhD level, this programme gives you the skills, qualification, and insight to follow your ambitions.
MSc/MA Sport with specific pathways in:
- MSc Sport (Sports Science)
- MA Sport (Sport Management)
- MA Sport (Sports Media and Digital Marketing).
Students study six modules over one year, if full time, or two years if studying part-time. The programme supports you to develop your knowledge and understanding of key aspects of your chosen pathway and is aimed at individuals that have prior knowledge of, or keen interest in, Sport Physiology, or Psychology, or Management or Sports Media and Digital Marketing. The module design allows students to negotiate the specific topics covered within the module allowing students to not only study the general topic area but specific areas within the subject that are student-focused.
Campus Information
Waterside Campus
In the summer of 2018 the University of Northampton moved to the brand-new Waterside Campus. This seven-year project saw a neglected brownfield site transformed into a successful and impressive new campus that facilitated a radical re-engineering of the University in terms of both teaching methodology and governance structures. aterside is a waterfront site of 24 hectares on the edge of the town centre. Its successful completion has turned a derelict site into a leading facility in the higher education sector. The project brief emphasised integration, of the University into the town and local community, and of departments, facilities and teams within the University itself. New pedestrian and road bridges and cycle routes link the site to the town, and public facilities and commercial outlets are part of a Waterside experience which continues beyond the University to local historic buildings and parks.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
You will need to have a minimum of 2.2 class honours degree in the chosen pathway from a UK university or international equivalent in a relevant subject in order to be eligible to apply for this course.
BANGLADESH
We accept the following qualifications:
- 4-Year Bachelor’s degree in Bangladesh from an institution listed on UKNARIC,
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Bangladesh from institutions listed on UKNARIC,
- Successful completion of a recognised pre-master's programme.
INDIA
We accept the following qualifications:
- 3-Year or 4-Year Bachelor’s degree – dependent on the awarding institution and final grade,
- Successful completion of a recognised pre-master's programme.
NEPAL
We accept the following qualifications:
- 3-Year or 4-Year Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university in Nepal,
- Successful completion of a recognised pre-master's programme.
PAKISTAN
We accept the following qualifications:
- 4 or 5-Year Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University,
- Master’s degree in Pakistan from a recognised university,
- Successful completion of a recognized pre-master's programme.
SRI LANKA
We accept the following qualifications:
- Successful completion of a 3-yr or4-yr degree in Sri Lanka from an intuition recognised by UKNARIC,
- A Second Class Honours degree from a UK institution or equivalent
Please include the following documents with your completed application form:
- Details of your English Language competence, for example, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOFEL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) tests or equivalent.
- Certified copies of your school certificates and any other relevant qualifications. A certified copy is a photocopy that has an original official stamp of your school, college, or university on it. The stamp should not be a photocopy.
- At least one reference (signed and on headed paper).
- A personal statement to explain why you are interested in studying your chosen course.
